Meet Our ACTS Team



acts-denver-staffNancy Roble:

Co-director, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board of Directors
Established – Director of Metro Food Bank for 6 years. Secretary of the Executive Board of Directors of MFB, managed daily operations and volunteer staff, facilitate the developmental programs, originate expansion planning strategies, negotiate with organizations and suppliers, maintains inventory and delivery scheduling, creates and implements procedures for volunteer teams, provides varied solutions for emergency needs and client’s requests.

Jonathan Hortman:

Co-Director, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President of the board of Directors
Jonathan has experience in business management, having a background in sales, marketing, operations development, public relations, transportation planning, customer services, distribution, purchasing, inventory and distribution as he operated Assured Distribution Company, Inc., Jonathan F. Hortman Trucking Company, and Denver Newspaper Agency.

Dawn Szugyi:

Chief Operations Manager
Dawn has thirty years of experience with non profit organizations and volunteer staffs. Directed, managed, and worked various positions within those organizations. Loan Officer for five years, last bank was Countrywide Home Loans. She’s worked as Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service Specialist for private and corporate companies for thirty years.

John Szugyi:

Pastor of Acts II: International Fellowship, and Board Member of ACTS Resource Center
John has been a minister for 25 years, five of that full time ministry; he currently works for the Community College of Denver – Human Resources Department; he has been in Human Resources for the past 7 years; he has 25 years of non-profit experience and leadership with volunteer staff.

Anne Steel:

Grant Writer and Board Member
Anne’s most significant work experiences are 15 years of secondary teaching, nine years as grant writer and program director for Senior’s Inc. and the Denver Regional Council of Governments, and seven years on the Marilyn Hickey Ministries’ staff. Anne’s schooling includes a Master’s degree in Human Service Management. Her best times are in prayer, playing sports and enjoying her great-grandchildren.

Michael (IronMike) Hoffmeister:

Computer Tech
IronMike has been designing computers and a wide variety of electronic equipment and software since the early 70’s, when he worked for Technical Design Labs, developing the first computers designed for private ownership. Since then, he has held such positions as hardware engineer, software engineer and Director of Software Design (Network Control Corporation). In 2001, he signed on with the Army / Air Force Exchange System to set up recreational facilities for American Troops around the world. Now he is dedicated to using computers to benefit people in need here in Denver.
