The ACTS Team

Nancy Roble Hortman

Nancy Roble Hortman
Co-Founder and Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board of Directors:
In 2003, Nancy stepped through the doors of a ministry center in desperate need of physical healing from MCS-EI (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and Environmental Illness). The food she was once unable to take in she now gives out to the hungry! In her personal quest, she discovered the joy of helping those worse off than herself. That’s when she began feeding the hungry on the streets of west Colfax. In 2009, the doors of the ACTS Resource Center were opened; while managing the daily operations at ACTS, she is responsible for the montly distribution of over 150,000 lbs. of food, and providing emergency food to over 10,000 hungry recipients. Nancy continues to work without salary; facilitating development and expansion strategies, negotiating with organizations and suppliers, maintaining inventory and delivery schedules, creating and implementing procedures for volunteer teams, and providing solutions for a variety of needs.

Johnathan Hortman

Johnathan Hortman
Co-Founder and Executive Director, Vice-President of the Board of Directors, Director of Veterans Program:
Watching Johnathan now scurry cheerfully about the ACTS facility, one can tell he has a heart for those who are hurting. His professional background includes business management, sales, marketing, operations development, public relations, transportation planning, customer services, distribution, purchasing, inventory, and distribution. Small business and employment experience include Assured Distribution Company, Inc., Jonathan F. Hortman Trucking Company, and Denver Newspaper Agency. Jonathan is no stranger to challenge, suffering major traumatic loss in the armed forces. As if this wasn’t enough, he was crushed in a forklift accident leaving him paralyzed for over 2 years and later fought cancer twice. We are believing that he will remain cancer-free.

Lynnette Ortiz

Lynnette Ortiz
Operations Manager- Food Bank, Acts of Kindness, Coffee House:
Lynette’s first encounter with A.C.T.S. Resource Center was in delivering a basket of food to a family in need. Now she is primarily responsible for the daily operations of the the food and clothing banks at the outreach. She manages the community service volunteers, orders the food, manages the shipping of the food, and is responsible for the intake of material donations for the clothing and household goods bank. She also manages the distribution of weekend children's lunches and holiday food and gift baskets, as well as the monthly food boxes delivered to the families of veterans at Ft. Carson. Lynette can easily identify with the hurting. After being raised by an exemplary Catholic family, she fell into a series of tragedies. Suffering the back to back deaths of her adoptive parents, she found herself addicted to cocaine and serving time. Lynette gets emotional when she conveys that it was the influence of A.C.T.S. Resource Center that turned her life around, and now wears the most encouraging smile!
