ACTS SHELTER – For Homeless Men

An open door for homeless men in crisis

What makes ACTS Shelter unique is the success story behind our food banks ability to distribute over 150,000 lbs. of food to over 10,000 hungry people each month!

In addition to the men living in our facility under our BREAKING THE CHAINS PROGRAM, we also open our doors to provide emergency shelter for those who need an overnight stay.  We get calls any time of day, even late night as men in need find out about us.

We are only limited in our capacity to shelter men in crisis by the  number of beds we have on the facility. With limited space at our facility, our goal is to never turn anyone away.  Unfortunately sometimes the demand is more than our supply of beds.  As of mid-March, 2011, we do not have the funds to purchase more mattresses, bunk beds, or airbeds.

Please consider donating specifically to this need.  There is such a demand to assist men in our city, and their most urgent  needs are met by the generous donations of people such as yourself.

ACTS provides emergency overnight stay for men during times of harsh weather conditions, with a waiting list for the program.  Our dream is to be able to house all who are in need of a place to stay. There is such a need to assist men in our city.  Our Guest Workers live and eat on the premises, go to provided meetings according to their personal profile of recovery, assist with our daily outreach activities, and help with daily chores as part of the program.
