Provision to the Poor
Provision to the Poor is an emergency assistance program for individuals and families who are in crisis.
This is a fabulous program that offers many kinds of services that so many take for granted. Services include rent assistance, birth certificates, Colorado identification cards, utility assistance, transportation, health care, dental care, and much more.
Every day we talk to people who are desperate, who have to decide if they are going to pay their bills or buy food for their children. Many are homeless, or are one paycheck away from being on the streets. Daily they wrestle with paying their rent, purchasing food, or choosing to go without medication, or attending to their children’s needs. Some in our community cannot even get to a hospital, doctor’s office, or a dentist. If they did go, they do not have what is needed to be admitted for emergency help or care. Many are turned away, and many just suffer in silence.
This program offers provisions as a hand-up to help those to get what they really need. We are all about getting people back on track. This is the “teaching how to fish” program. While they are learning however, our assistance provides something substantial for them. To bring them hope and some peace of mind. This is for emergency provision; be that medical care, becoming able to drive, providing a legal identification so they can apply for government programs, prescriptions until insurance kicks into place, etc.
Many people become paralyzed when so many things go wrong. Desperation can be very overwhelming. They are in need of a kind hand to pull them out of the ditch they have found themselves in. As a community member you can do that very thing, your hand can be the one stretched out to help.
Partnering with us at the ACTS Resource Center fulfills these needs. It helps the worry or fear leave the hearts of our neighbors. This brings peace and brotherhood to our community.
If not us, then who? If not now, then when? Come join us!
We are a Community Taking a Stand….it’s time to ACT!
